By default, all orders in Meadow will apply the taxes in Settings --> Taxes.
To set up different tax rates for specified delivery zones, scroll to the bottom and click the "Add Tax" button when viewing a zone.
To find a sales tax rate for any address in California, you can use this tool from the state tax agency (CDTFA).
If any zone tax is set up, default taxes will not be applied to orders in that zone.
To collect multiple taxes, add each tax to each zone where they should be applied. For example, the zone below will charge both the local sales tax and excise tax (and ignore the taxes in Settings).
Click the "Import Area" button and select "Sales Taxes" as the source to import a pre-defined tax jurisdiction.
The state sales and use tax rate for that jurisdiction will appear in the zone "Taxes" area.
Click the Import Tax button to open the tax creation form. The tax rates will be automatically filled in. Complete the form for the tax you want to collect and click "Save."
Any orders in this zone will now apply the tax(es) set up for that zone instead of the taxes in Settings.
NOTE
All tax rates and tax zones are based on CDTFA data provided by the State of California via the California State Geoportal. Meadow is not responsible for any discrepancies in the state database. Confirm your tax rates and settings with a professional.
