What is MCP and how does Measure Studio use it?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor read live data from your connected apps — including Measure Studio.

Instead of copying and pasting numbers into a chat window, you can ask your AI assistant questions directly and it will pull the answer from your Measure Studio account in real time.

Think of it as giving your AI a direct line to your social performance data.

What can the AI access through MCP?

When you connect Measure Studio to an MCP-compatible AI tool, the AI can:

  • Retrieve post performance metrics across all connected accounts

  • Pull benchmark comparisons for your content

  • Access group and auto-grouping data

  • Look up historical trends across platforms

  • Answer questions about specific posts, time ranges, or accounts

It cannot post content, change settings, or access billing information.

How does authentication work?

Measure Studio uses OAuth 2.0 to authorize MCP connections. When you connect an AI tool, you'll be redirected to Measure Studio to approve access. Your credentials are never shared with the AI tool itself — only a secure token is used.

You can revoke MCP access at any time from your Measure Studio account settings.

Which AI tools support MCP?

MCP is supported by a growing list of tools, including:

  • Claude Desktop (Anthropic)

  • ChatGPT (OpenAI — Plus, Team, and Enterprise plans)

  • Google Gemini CLI

  • Cursor

  • Perplexity (Pro and Enterprise plans)
