What to do if you have been invited to use Huma as a clinician (Mediclinic)

If you are a clinician and have been invited to use Huma, this help guide walks you through what you need to do to get your account setup!

Updated over 3 years ago

Huma works on an invite only system. You can invite colleagues and other clinicians to manage and monitor patients on Huma. If you would like access to Huma, please speak to your team lead.

(1) Huma Invite Email

You will have been invited to use Huma by a colleague and received an Email from Huma. Please check your inbox for an invite Email from Huma, similar to the one below.

Click on 'Create account'. This will open up a new browser window and guide you on next steps.

(2) Creating your Huma account

The next step is to create your Huma account. You will see the below screen asking for key account information and to set a password.

Once you have entered the applicable information, set your password and agreed to the terms and conditions, click on 'Create account'.

(3) Huma Account verification

Once you have created your account, you will then receive a verification Email from Huma similar to the one below. It's important to verify your account within 24 hours. If not, you run the risk of your account being blocked and unable to use Huma.

Please click 'Verify email'. This will again, open up a new browser window and guide you on next steps.

(4) Two factor-verification (2FA) setup

The final step before you can access Huma is to set up Two-factor verification otherwise known as 2FA.

This is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves. Two-factor authentication provides a higher level of security than authentication methods that depend on single-factor authentication (SFA) in which the user provides only one factor -- typically, a password or passcode.

Within your browser, you should see a screen similar to the below, asking for you to input a mobile phone number.

Enter your mobile phone number and click 'Continue'.

(5) Logging in with Two factor-verification

Upon clicking 'Continue' two things will happen:

a) Firstly your browser window will load up the '2 Step Verification' screen similarly to the below:

b) Secondly, you will receive a text message with the Huma verification code. Enter the code and click on 'Next'.

Once you have clicked on 'Next' the Huma clinician dashboard will load up and a one time pop-up will display with a disclaimer. Please read this, tick the checkbox and click 'start using Huma' to gain access to the clinician dashboard

You should now have access to the Huma clinician dashboard.

The next time you log in, all you need to do is:

  1. Enter your Email address

  2. Enter your password

  3. Enter the code sent to you via text

And you will get instant access to Huma.
