As part of our direct integration with MailerLite, you can set up actions in your MemberVault products and offers to tag your subscribers in MailerLite when they complete certain activities throughout your MV account. In MailerLite, tags are called groups.

This article will show you how groups communicate between MailerLite and MV, how to set these up, and which tags we recommend using.

How Tagging/Groups Works

When you set up an action in MV and you have MailerLite integrated with your MV account, this will give you the option to "Add a Tag" in the "Do This" section of your actions.

You can use tags to group your MailerLite subscribers based on which products they've purchased, trigger visual automations or rules in MailerLite, and manage your members' email consent preferences.

You do NOT need to create this group in MailerLite first -- simply type in your tag ingto MemberVault, and the first time this action fires, it will create the tag in MailerLite!

To add your tag to MV, type in the tag you'd like to use under the "Name of Tag" space in your MV action.

Now, anyone that signs up to that product (be it via a form or by payment), will be added to that group in MailerLite.

If you'd like to check whether or not the group has been created, all you need to do is click Subscribers in the top menu then Groups. Here, you can find all the groups that you've created in MV.

Best Practices to Use Groups

Here are the basic action triggers we recommend including:

  • Added to your product

  • Consent Given (set up Consent Tags under "Members" > "Actions")

  • Consent Not Given

  • Becomes a Hot Lead for your product

If you want to further customize your members' experience, you can also add tags for these actions:

  • Added to your product via a certain payment type, webhooks, manual adds etc

  • Completing a lesson/module/full product

  • Choosing a particular multiple choice quiz answer

  • Earning X number of EP in your product
