Hosting your videos with an external video platform such as Vimeo, YouTube, Wistia, etc. is a great way to ensure a quality viewing experience for your users and to protect your video content from being downloaded.

There are two ways to embed your video content from an external platform into your MV product:

  1. Use the provided video embed tool that's provided in each lesson.

  2. Embed the video directly in your text area using the 'insert/edit media' option.

The following tutorial video walks you through the steps for both options. And if you prefer to follow along with step-by-step instructions and screenshots, we've provided those for you below as well!

Option 1: Use the provided video embed tool that's provided in each lesson.

  1. Click into the lesson you wish to edit, and select your video platform from the dropdown menu under Video Type (options are None, muse.ai, Vimeo, YouTube, and other).

  2. Depending on which option you select, you'll have different instructions to add the video share link or embed code. Copy and paste the link or embed code based on your platform of choice, and you're done!

    1. muse.ai -- full video share link

    2. Vimeo -- full video share link

    3. YouTube -- full video share link

    4. Other -- embed code

Recommendations + Troubleshooting Tips:

  • For YouTube links, be sure to use the actual video's shareable link. If you embed the video from a playlist, this can occasionally cause issues with the visibility of your videos for your viewers.

  • For Vimeo links, only use the video link and not the Customize link option! The Customized link will not embed in our platform.

Option 2: Embed the video directly in your text area using the 'insert/edit media' option.

  1. In the Lesson Text Editor, select Insert Media.

  2. In the pop up box that appears, click "Embed".

  3. Go to your video host and locate the embed code. YouTube provides you with one code option, whereas Vimeo and Loom give you both a Responsive and a Fixed option. We highly recommend selecting "Fixed" for Vimeo, whereas for Loom videos you can use "Responsive" without any spacing issues in your lessons.

  4. Copy and paste your embed code into the pop-up box in MemberVault, click Save, and you're all set!
