Short answer: yes! If you currently have a Custom Domain set up with your MemberVault account and are re-branding or wish to change your URL name for any reason, you can certainly do so.

Here are the steps you'll need to take:

  1. Reach out to customer support through the chat button in the bottom right corner of your admin dashboard (select the "Talk to a Person" option after our chat bot responds) or email us at hello@membervault.co letting us know you would like for us to reset your Custom Domain.

  2. Once we have confirmed this reset, you'll need to remove the 2 CNAME records in your domain host provider (i.e. GoDaddy, Siteground, Cloudflare etc.) that you had set up with your previous custom domain.

  3. Navigate back to your MV Admin Dashboard, click "Settings" and "Custom Domain."

  4. Follow the steps to set up your new Custom Domain!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • It's likely that your users will still have your previous custom domain bookmarked in their browser for easy reference, so if you want to avoid having them go in and update this link, you can set up a redirect in your domain host service provider after setting up the new domain so your previous custom domain automatically leads to the new one. This article walks through how to set this up.

  • Setting up your new Custom Domain can take anywhere from a couple hours to a couple of days. During that time, your users can always access your MV account from the original subdomain link (i.e. xyzsubdomain.vipmembervault.com).
