If you are using MemberVault's direct sign-up or checkout page, there is a box that your users must select to agree to your terms of service and privacy policy before getting added to your product. If they do not select this, they will receive an error message and be unable to complete their sign up until they have done so.

**Note: This method ONLY works when a user signs up directly on your checkout page. If they are added to your product manually or via a webhook from your email provider or Zapier, you must collect proof that they agreed to your terms elsewhere.

To test this, open your checkout page for your product and leave the checkbox blank next to your Terms of Service. When you click the Sign Up button, the following error message will appear: "Sorry! You need to agree to the Terms & Conditions before we can proceed."

In a user's activity record, you can track how they were added to your MV. If their Activity Log shows "Free - Sign Up" or "Purchase - (insert purchase ID number here)," then this means they went through your checkout page to get added to your product and agreed to your terms.
