Learn everything you need to know about AI Cards, a useful feature you can find in your custom reports and dashboards.

Written by Victoria

AI Card translates raw social listening data into a custom analysis in your Mentionlytics Reports and Dashboards based on the prompts you insert. You can tell Mentionlytics’ AI what to analyze and how to present results, whether as a chart, pie chart, list, or other form you prefer.

Writing Your Own Prompts

When writing your own prompts, make sure to be specific:

  • Write clear, comprehensive descriptions so AI has the exact details it needs to pull the right data.

  • Mention your specific data sources (like channels or trackers) and the exact visual you want (e.g., “pie chart” or “line graph”).

How to Get Useful Results

Give AI a clear brief. “Analyze my mentions” leaves plenty of room for guesswork. Include:

  • Data scope: Specify the trackers, channels, and timeframe you want analyzed.

  • Analysis goal: Explain what you want to identify, compare, or summarize.

  • Output format: Request a specific chart, such as a pie chart or line graph, or a written summary.

  • Text styling: Ask for bullet points, bold key findings, or another clear format.

AI Credits and Refreshing Results

Every generation uses your AI credit quota, including generating a new result after editing a prompt.

You can track how many AI credits you have through the AI Card prompt builder.

Once generated, an AI Card is cached, meaning its result is stored so it does not keep regenerating and using credits whenever you view it.

To analyze updated mention data or apply a changed prompt, regenerate the card when you need to. Until then, it keeps displaying the previously generated result.

Generation can take longer when you analyze a long timeframe or a large number of mentions.

Note: If you added the report to an email notification as an attachment, your AI Card will automatically regenerate to show the correct and up-to-date data.

Examples of AI Cards in Practice

You can use AI Cards in your report or dashboard to highlight the most important things during the reporting period, such as crises detected, which channel performed best, which competitors won media attention over the selected period, or a summary for relevant stakeholders.

Use Case #1: Crisis Signal Check for Ryanair

You can check regularly (daily or weekly) to catch early signs of crises and suggest actions required for calming the situation and protecting reputation.

Prompt: Look only at negative mentions in this period. Identify any spike in volume or reach, the channel and country it originated in, the accounts and outlets amplifying it, and how far it has spread. For each spike, summarize the underlying complaint or story, rate its severity, and recommend whether it demands a public response, monitoring, or no action.

Ryanair had a spike of negative mentions on 29–30 Sep that was driven by a runway near‑miss at Lanzarote that originated in local webcam/TikTok posts and was amplified by national media and UK creators.

ryanair ai card example

The Crisis Signal Check AI Card pointed out:

  • Origin: local footage and spotter posts (LanzaroteWebcam/TikTok) reporting a runway incident at Lanzarote.

  • Amplifiers: major reposting by media and creators: notably Irish Daily Mirror (Facebook) (irishmirror, reach ~1.16M on the post), viral TikToks (e.g., Josh Pugh, emzoems) and high‑engagement X/Twitter posts (e.g., MagicM).

  • Spread: cross‑platform distribution (Facebook + TikTok + Twitter/YouTube) produced wide reach beyond the local audience; high media reach (~1.16M) plus multiple creator reposts.

Besides reporting the negative mentions spike, it also offers recommended actions based on severity. In this case, the recommendations were as follows:

  • Runway near‑miss (safety): Severity = HIGH — Public response recommended. Provide factual timeline and safety statement; coordinate with operations/legal.

  • Viral commentary/satire (staff/customers): Severity = LOW–MEDIUM — Monitor only. No immediate reply unless individual claims require correction.

Use Case #2: Trending Topics & Keywords for Monday

You can run a monthly check of trending topics and keywords to see what the audience talks about related to your brand or your competitors. This summarized social listening data is excellent for social media or PR reports, product development team notes, or the sales team.

Prompt: Extract the themes, keywords, hashtags, and named entities that dominated the conversation in this period. Group them into a handful of topics, show which are growing and which are fading, and flag anything that is new compared with the previous period. For each topic, note the sentiment attached to it and give one representative mention.

This AI Card for Monday (the project management tool) noted that, from September 29th to October 5th, most negative mentions were related to AI workspace and PMO automation, while mixed sentiment was driven by tutorials and guides. Both were related to a YouTube channel. In contrast, a TikTok creator drew mostly positive sentiment.

Most complaints during this period, with a spike on October 2nd (17 mentions, 16 negative), focused on reliability, errors, and support.
