How Review Automations Work in Paige
Paige can take review management completely off your plate — or keep you in the loop as much (or as little) as you want. Here’s how to set it up 👇
Step 1: Choose How Paige Responds to Each Review Type (1–5 ⭐)
For each star rating, you can decide exactly how Paige should handle new reviews:
🤖 AI (Fully Automated)
Paige automatically replies to all new reviews.
No approval needed — it just happens.
Best if you want reviews handled hands-free.
📝 AI (Approval Required)
Paige writes a suggested reply for every new review.
You (or someone else) gets an email to approve it before it’s published to Google.
Great if you want control but still save time.
📋 Create Template / Use Template
Paige replies the same way every time for that review type.
Works, but we generally recommend AI for more natural, authentic responses.
🚫 Ignore
Paige will completely ignore that type of review.
No reply and no suggestions.
💡 Tip: If you’re tempted to ignore certain reviews, consider AI (approval required) instead — that way Paige can still suggest a response to help you decide what to say.
Step 2: Decide Who Approves Review Replies
Next, choose how approvals should work:
Decide who receives the approval emails
Just you
Someone else
Or multiple people
You can also choose whether review reply tasks show up in your Paige feed.
When would you turn off feed tasks?
If you’re a marketing agency and your client wants to approve and respond to all reviews themselves, you may want:
Approval emails ON
Review reply tasks in your feed OFF
This keeps your dashboard clean while still keeping everyone informed.
Step 3: Customize Responses with Train Paige
Want Paige to reply to reviews exactly how you would? Use Train Paige at the top of this screen 🎓
Here are a few examples of what you can tell Paige:
“If it’s a bad review, include: ‘Please call James during regular business hours so we can make things right.’”
“If it’s a happy review, include a smiley emoji 😊”
“Use a friendly, conversational tone and keep replies under 3 sentences.”
About Keywords in Review Replies
You can train Paige to include keywords in responses, but:
Google no longer rewards keywords in review replies
Overusing them can make replies feel robotic
👉 We recommend prioritizing authentic, human-sounding responses instead.
Step 4: Get More Reviews with Automated Review Requests
Once replies are set up, it’s time to focus on getting more reviews ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Inside the Automation → Review Management tab, you can:
Create automated review request campaigns
Ask customers for reviews automatically
Follow up with customers who don’t leave one
Old Reviews
Paige will reply to 5 of your reviews from the past 6 months per day using the settings you selected, unless you clicked "Ignore" on the review replies during the Optimization step of the business's setup.
Bad Reviews
Paige will automatically report all of your negative reviews (old and new) with Google as soon as they come in to help you get them taken down. paige will also give you the reason. You and your team can also flag it since the more people that flag it as soon as they come in, the more likely they are to be removed by Google. There's no guarantee that flagging it will get it taken down but it can definitely help!
How Fast Does Paige Reply?
Paige will try to respond to reviews within 45 minutes of the review being published online, which is often faster than you receive the notification about the new review from Google themselves. once a new review is received on your Google profile, Google notifies us through their API which can take about 15 minutes (if their API works correctly) at which point Paige will immediately draft a review reply and either publish it within minutes or ask the right person to approve it. once a review reply is approved it will be published within minutes on Google.
Automatically Ask For Reviews
To use this feature, you must connect a Google inbox — either:
A personal Gmail account, or
A Google Workspace (business) account
📌 Why? This ensures the highest possible email delivery and open rates.
❌ Shared senders (like no-reply addresses) often land in spam — we don’t use them.
Want someone else (like a client) to connect their Google inbox?
Use the link option below the button — it’s fully white-labeled and looks professional and allows someone else to connect their Google account directly to your Paige account.
✉️ How to Use Paige's BCC Email Link To Automate Reviews
The BCC Link for reviews is a special email address that’s unique to your business. When you BCC this address in an email to a customer, Paige will:
Detect the customer’s email address (the one in the “To” field).
Automatically enroll them in your review request campaign.
Send a review request email after your chosen delay.
Send a follow-up, if the customer hasn’t left a review yet.
Example:
Say you’re sending a receipt or invoice after finishing a job — that’s the perfect time to BCC Paige and gently ask for a review!
How to Find and Use Your Magic BCC Link
Here’s what your Magic BCC Link might look like:
rizzys-burgers@giveratings.com
If that looks familiar, it should — it’s just your review request link flipped around!
For example:
Your review link: https://giveratings.com/rizzys-burgers
Your Magic BCC link: rizzys-burgers@giveratings.com
How to use it:
When sending an email to a customer, add your Magic BCC link to the BCC field.
Paige will automatically take care of the rest! 🎉
You can test this by sending an email to yourself and including the BCC link.
✉️ How to Use Paige's Webhook To Automate Reviews
The webhook option allows you to give Paige emails to ask for reviews automatically by connecting Paige to any other software application that has an API or integration with Zapier, Make, N8n, etc.
Before you set up your webhook, make sure you have the following:
Item | Where to Find It | Example |
Business Slug | This is the part after the slash in your review request URL | If your link is |
API Key | In Paige, go to Settings > Integrations | Copy this key securely – it authorizes your webhook |
Webhook URL | Use this exactly: |
|
⚙️ How to Set Up the Webhook
You can use any tool that supports sending webhooks — Zapier, Make, N8n, or a direct integration. Note: some automation tools don't allow webhooks in their free plans, such as Zapier.
Here’s a general step-by-step walkthrough:
Step 1: Trigger the Automation
Decide when you want to ask for a review. For example:
A customer finishes a job in your CRM
A new row is added to a Google Sheet
A payment is made in your accounting tool
A booking is completed in your scheduler
In your automation platform, set this as your trigger.
Step 2: Add a Webhook Action
Choose a POST webhook request as your next action.
Here’s what to fill in:
Webhook URL:
https://www.localmarketingmanager.com/api/review-campaign-setting/enroll-emails-webhookHeaders:
Add a header calledx-api-key
Set its value to your Paige API keyData (Body):
Add a data field calledslugand add your slug as the valueAdd a data field called
emailsand add the input email value/variable here.
✅ Example Zapier Configuration
You can use a Zap like this:
Trigger: New Payment in QuickBooks
Action: Webhooks by Zapier → POST
Webhook Setup:
URL:
https://www.localmarketingmanager.com/api/review-campaign-setting/enroll-emails-webhookHeaders:
x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEYPayload Type:
JSONData:
email: (select customer email field from trigger)business_slug:your-slug
🔁 How Paige Handles Review Follow-Ups
After the first review request email is sent, Paige keeps an eye on your Google reviews to see if that customer leaves one. Since Google doesn't tell us the reviewer’s email address, Paige uses smart AI matching based on the name.
Example:
If you email jsmith1241@gmail.com and then a review shows up under the name "John Smith" or "James Smith," Paige assumes it’s the same person and won’t send a follow-up.
This process isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty accurate — and customers are usually fine with a second gentle reminder if needed, or they already left one.
⚙️ 3. Customize Your Review Campaign
Go to Automations → Review Management here:
https://app.localmarketingmanager.com/automations/review-management
From here, you can:
Set a delay before the review email is sent
Add a follow-up email if no review was left
Choose “Never” for the follow-up delay if you don’t want a second email
Fully customize your emails — subject line, body, everything!
💡 Tips for Best Results
Tip | Why It Matters |
Send emails right after the job is done | It’s when customers are happiest! |
Keep your review email friendly and simple | Less is more — make it easy to click and review |
Test with your own email | Make sure it’s working before using it live |
Use your real Google inbox | Better delivery = more reviews! |
That’s it! Once this is set up, Paige will handle reviews exactly the way you want — saving you time while keeping your Google Business Profile active and engaging.
