Congratulations on your decision to use Mercu!

This guide outlines the six key steps involved in your onboarding. By the end of these steps, you're ready to hire with Mercu.

If you've been partnered with an onboarding manager, they will go over these steps with you and set them up as tasks in our customer onboarding platform Arrows.

1) Basic account set-up

This step involves creating your account on Mercu, integrating with your brand's WhatsApp for Business Manager, and assigning you a WhatsApp number.

This step usually takes 1-2 days, depending on the availability of your Meta Business Manager admin.

You can read more about the steps involved in the WhatsApp brand integration here.

2) Creating jobs and job templates

This step involves first planning out your core jobs and job templates (including workflows and content) and then creating them in Mercu.

This step is really important and will likely be where you spend a lot of your time on. That's why we've written a dedicated article on this, which you can find here.

To start, we recommend watching this video to get a better understanding of what's involved in this step.

3) Creating locations and user access

This step involves setting up your business' locations and user access. For both, we recommend using our templates to share this data with us.

Please make a copy of the template, fill it out, and share it with your onboarding manager. They will then take care of uploading the data to your Mercu account.

4) Configuring the AI assistant

This step involves sharing all candidate-facing materials that we can use to train the AI assistant. The AI assistant is embedded in all candidate interactions and can—similar to ChatGPT—answer candidates' questions.

As a first step, we recommend filling out our template.

Please make a copy of the template, fill it out, and share it with your onboarding manager. They will then take care of uploading the data to your Mercu account.

Additionally, please collate and share any of the following documents (if available):

  • Candidate FAQs

  • Employer branding brochure

  • Job descriptions

5) Enabling job board & third-party integrations

Depending on your Mercu plan and agreement, this step involves enabling relevant job board and third-party software integrations. Your onboarding manager will guide you through the required steps.

5) Training

Depending on your Mercu plan and agreement, we may provide training beyond the onboarding phase. Please speak with your onboarding manager for more details.

Regardless of whether Mercu provides training support, we strongly recommend allocating time for proper training for all staff using Mercu.

Your onboarding manager can guide you to relevant training resources. Additionally, you can always reach out via the Intercom chat.

6) Go-live

Congratulations! Your Mercu account is all set up, you've trained your staff, tested everything, and are ready to use Mercu for hiring!

If you have any questions, please reach out via Intercom. We're here to help you get the most out of Mercu!
