Add Team Members to Locations

By default, users must belong to a location on creation. Mercu allows users to be assigned to one or many locations.

Before adding users to a location, make sure you have configured location information within the account.

You can add team members to a location in multiple ways.


Via Location Screen

On the sidebar of the platform, navigate to the 'Account' page. Jump to the 'Locations' tab and click on the location that you wish to add team members into.

If you wish to remove any team members, simply select the meatballs icon on the right-hand side of their user row and select "Remove from Location".

Click on the 'Add Team Members' button, and a modal will pop up to filter and search for team members you wish to add to that location. You may filter for team members by type, role, existing locations or via the search bar.

Click add team members to add the selected users to the location.

You'll need to jump into team members' profile pages to update and add location-specific roles and types. See our documentation on how to update team member profiles.


Via Manual Invite

When manually creating team members, you will be required to select a location.

On the 'People' page, select 'Invite Team Members' on the top right-hand side of the page and click on the 'Individual' tab.

First name, phone number and location are mandatory fields when inviting a team member manually. Phone numbers must be unique across all users at the account level.

NOTE: If you are a location admin or location manager, we recommend that you first add team members via the location screen, as they may already exist.


Via Bulk Upload

To add team members to multiple locations in bulk, select 'Invite Team Members' on the top right-hand side of the page and click on the 'Bulk Upload' tab.

The bulk uploader will use the phone number as the unique identifier of a team member. Any mapped fields with a value will be updated with whatever new value is provided via bulk upload.

On the 'Map Columns' step, you will need to map a column to the 'Location' template field. This column should correspond to the Location ID of the location you wish to add.

NOTE: Location ID and Location Name are two different attributes that are required when creating a location. Please ensure you are mapping the Location ID when using the bulk upload approach.
