Configuring Location Information

This article shows how users can create, update and delete locations from their Mercu account.

Overview

Configuring locations is the highest-level approach to segmenting your team members natively within the platform.

Account administrators have the access permissions to create, update and delete additional locations from Mercu.


Creating Locations

To create a new location:

  1. Navigate to the 'Account' page from the platform side-bar.

  2. Click on the 'Location' tab.

  3. Click on the 'Add Location' button on the top-right corner of the page.

A modal will appear and you'll be required to enter a few details about the location you wish to create.

Key details required include:

  • Location Name - This is the name of the location. Location names can be used to target enrolments and be inserted as dynamic attributes in content modules.

  • Location ID - A unique identifier for each location. Location ID's are a required reference when bulk uploading users or attributes to the platform. Location ID's must also be unique from any previously archived locations.

  • Contact - This is the designated support contact for each location. For the time being, the designated support contact sits at the platform-account level. To update the support contact, please reach out to hello@mercu.com.


Update or Delete Locations

Editing locations can be done by account administrators only.

From the 'Account' page, navigate to the 'Locations' tab and click on on the meatball icons on the right-hand side of the location you wish to remove.

Select 'Archive' to remove your location from the account view. A functionality to restore archived locations is in our roadmap. For the time being, please contact hello@mercu.com if you wish to restore an archived location.

NOTE: Locations cannot be archived until all active users have been removed from the location. Please see our documentation on how to assign users to multiple locations for more information.

To edit a location, click on the location you wish to edit from the 'Locations' screen.

Select the 'Location Details' tab and you'll be able to edit all details associated with that location.
