Campaign module types

Understand the different campaign module types.

Updated yesterday

Every job stage campaign consists of three sections:

  1. The 'Welcome' message

  2. The 'Campaign Modules'

  3. The 'Conclusion' message

Exceptions: The Reject stage uses a single-message blast, and the Schedule stage does not include a conclusion message, as the interview confirmation message serves as the conclusion for that campaign type.

Campaign modules

Content Module

The content module allows you to share content with candidates. It supports text, video (pasting YouTube links works best), images, and documents. A content module can consist of one or many blocks. Each block within a Content module gets sent as an individual message in sequential order.

To ensure the best conversational experience, we highly recommend limiting each Content module to a maximum of four blocks. Additionally, we highly recommend not using more than 300 characters per block - the shorter, the snazzier.

Question module

The Question module allows you to screen candidates for personal information or quiz them on topics relevant to the application process. There are seven types of questions for you to choose from.

1. Short answer

This module collects short answers from candidates. Customers use it for a range of questions - from simple ones like “When can you start?” or “What suburb do you live in?” to behavioural questions such as “When did you last handle a difficult customer conversation?” or “What makes great customer service?”

By default, all candidate responses to short answer questions are processed through an AI relevancy check. This check evaluates whether the response is semantically relevant to the question and rejects irrelevant answers, helping prevent candidates from skipping through questions.

You can also enable AI scoring for short answer questions. This uses AI to assign a score from 1 (very weak) to 5 (very strong), based on the response’s relevance and quality. Learn more about AI scoring and how to customise the underlying prompt here.

2. Yes/No

Use this to ask questions that can be answered with "Yes" or "No". Examples include: “Can you work weekends?” or “Do you have valid working rights?

3. True/False

Similar to Yes/No questions, this is used to ask questions that can be answered with "True" or "False".

4. Multiple choice

Multiple choice questions allow you to create predefined answer options. While there’s no technical limit to the number of choices, we strongly recommend keeping it to a maximum of six to ensure a good user experience.

5. Mapped response

Mapped response questions are used to collect candidate details required for integration with third-party systems such as HR platforms, payroll, or rostering tools.

For now, the only option for Mapped Response is email.

6. Scale

Scale questions let you collect responses based on a defined scale. They are typically used for feedback or experience ratings, such as “On a scale of 1–5, how would you rate the group interview?

7. Acknowledgment

Acknowledgment questions can only be answered with 'Yes' and are thus used for getting candidates to acknowledge specific issues. For example: 'Please acknowledge that you have read our privacy policy.'

Collect module

The Collect module allows you to request documents or files from candidates. When added, it sends a message prompting the candidate to either upload the specified file or take a photo of it. The uploaded file will appear in the candidate's profile.

Video / voice interview module

The Video / Voice Interview module allows you to set up asynchronous interviews. You specify 1–3 questions, which are sent to the candidate. They record and submit their answers at their convenience. You’ll receive their video or voice responses once submitted.

Schedule module

Only Schedule stages include a Schedule module. This module cannot be deleted and is always fixed as the last module in a Schedule campaign. It sends the candidate a link that opens the web UI for interview scheduling.

E-Sign module

The E-Sign module allows you to send a document for signature by the candidate and corporate signatories. It is powered by BoldSign and provides legally binding e-signatures.

Integration module

The Integration module allows you to send links to third-party platforms through Mercu.

Conclusion message

The conclusion message is the final message sent in each campaign. It lets candidates know they have completed the campaign and no further action is required.
