Some exchanges will sync to merlin within a few minutes while other exchanges like Bitrue, Kucoin, etc... could take several hours to fully sync. The age of your account, the number of transactions in it and the exchanges API protocols will affect the length of time merlin needs to fully import your data.

While your account is importing data (syncing) and calculating your gains, your portfolio values may look incorrect. Please wait until ALL the syncing is complete before editing any of your coins or reporting any issues.

Each exchange requires an API Key or login credentials to sync your wallets and exchanges to merlin. Merlin cannot import your data without this API key. You can visit our help center and watch the video "Getting Started in 3 Easy Steps" to learn how to create an API key.

Each exchange has its own limitations of how many transactions it allows, the type of transactions it provides and how many years of history it will share. These transaction limitations can also lead to partial or missing transactions that can affect your avg cost basis and gains or losses. Merlin is not a custodian, we don’t have your keys or your coins, we just display the coins from the exchanges or wallets that you connect to merlin.
