"Your asset is missing transactions this can affect your avg price."

Updated over a week ago

Here’s what this means and some troubleshooting tips that you can do...

Your account could be missing transactions and affecting your avg cost for the following reasons:

  • The exchange or wallet only allows a limited number of transactions through their API connection to merlin.

Troubleshooting Tip: You can add any and all missing transactions manually or simply override the cost basis by using Merlin’s manual tools. Watch the video “How to edit a coin manually” in our help center.

  • You may have setup the API exchange permissions incorrectly when setting up your API key.

Troubleshooting Tip: Make sure to follow the instructions on the learn page for each exchange when creating your API keys as they each have different settings.

  • If you purchased coins on an exchange/wallet and then moved them to another exchange/wallet, your original purchase transactions will be lost or missing and lead to incorrect avg cost basis. In this event, merlin will use the cost on the day the coins were deposited into the wallet/exchange that you moved it into.

Troubleshooting Tip: If this price is missing or looks incorrect, you can adjust the overall cost basis or edit the transaction to add in the correct purchase price using Merlin’s manual tools – See video “How to edit a coin manually” in our help center.
