When you hear “cacao” you probably think of chocolate. And while chocolate is made from cacao, you probably didn’t realize that in its raw form, it is quite the superfood!

Cacao contains the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world. It is also rich in vitamins and nutrients including magnesium, calcium potassium, zinc, copper, B vitamins, vitamin E, and more.

Some of the benefits of cacao include:

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Lowers blood pressure

  • Improved heart health

  • Promotes gut health

  • Relaxes muscles

  • Enhances mental focus and clarity

Cacao is also a great replacement for caffeine, because it contains a substance called theobromine.Theobromine is similar to caffeine in that it helps to boost mental focus, but it has a much gentler effect on the body. Theobromine stimulates your nervous system, relaxes your muscles, and dilates your blood vessels.

While cacao does contain miniscule amounts of caffeine, the low levels of caffeine plus the presence of theobromine is the reason why cacao helps you stay alert without the crash, nervousness, or jitters that coffee and matcha might give you. Plus, it means that you can have cacao without worrying about it hurting your sleep.

We are proud to serve this special cacao sourced from a small community farm in Guatemala. It's high quality cacao and it's truly a labor of love from farm to table.

This cacao is 100% pure ceremonial cacao with nothing added or taken away besides the exterior shell of the cacao bean. This is different from most chocolate bars which are made of refined ingredients like cocoa powder, cane sugar, and milk. Our cacao has all of the antioxidants, minerals, and essential fatty assets of the heirloom cacao that we’ve sourced.

To enjoy your Ceremonial Cacao Paste, pour 1 cup of hot water over about 2 tablespoons or 1 oz of the ground cacao in your favorite mug. With a hand frother, blend for about 30 seconds or until well mixed. Enjoy!
