Setting up Tool Overrides for Specific Materials

Materials can be set up to use specific tools instead of using the default tools. Tool overrides can be set up for both routing operations and border operations. A tool override can be set up by accessing the Library Specification Groups or Project Specification Groups and then editing a shared or project level material.

A tool override must be added to the code field. In the image above, a tool override has been added for both routing and border operations. The routing tool is listed first with the pipe symbol “|” preceding the border tool. Each tool (maximum of two), must be typed as “T<Common Tool Number>.” A feed speed override for the tool (optional) must be entered after the tool number and must be typed as “F<feed speed>.” If only a border tool override is being used, the tool still has to be preceded by the pipe symbol “|". If only a border routing operation is being performed, it needs to be succeeded by the pipe symbol "|".

Example: T<common tool #> F<feed speed>|T<common tool #> F<feed speed>

1. T101 F1000| T102 F2000

2. T101 F1000|

3. |T102 F2000
