To minimize the number of clicks necessary when using Microvellum software, we are providing this article as a tutorial for setting up your Microvellum Tool Strip with command buttons that activate the command directly without clicking several buttons.
Because accessing Edit Design Data requires a couple of manual clicks, we've decided to use this as our example below.
Click on the cog button for Edit Custom Toolbar.
Edit Custom Toolbar
Click the Add button.
If adding an internal Microvellum command:
Make sure the dropdown list of command types is set to internal command. Select it, if not.
Click to display the Command List. In this tutorial, we are creating a button to edit the product design data, so we'll select Edit Design Data from the list. This automatically populates the name of the new command.
The button icon is predefined if selecting an internal Microvellum command.
Click Apply.
If adding an AutoCAD command:
Click to drop down the list of command types and select AutoCAD Command.
Give your new button a name that matches its function.
Enter the AutoCAD command name form the Command dropdown list.
Click Browse to select the AutoCAD icon file.
Click the Apply button.
Click the newly created button in the list of buttons on the left and click the up or down arrows to locate the new command in the list as desired. In this tutorial, we locate it 3rd from the bottom of the toolbar.
Click the arrows to move the new item where desired.
Click OK.
You are now ready to use your new Microvellum custom button as you configured it.
