Save Subassembly to Template Check Prompts (Overview)

T
Written by Tim Sublette

The purpose of this article is to highlight the new interface and functionality when saving subassembly prompt(s) to the library level.

When saving a subassembly back to the template and overwriting it, you can now check the modified subassembly prompts against the template subassembly prompts. If the modified subassembly contains hard-locked prompt values where they were formerly formula-driven, you now have the option to use the formula from the template prompt and save it back with the subassembly.

These changes are active in Toolbox build 15.6.2201 or greater.

After making changes and saving the subassembly prompts, the program displays the "Subassembly Save Options" interface.

Selecting the checkbox "Save to Library" displays the new option to "Resolve Prompt Conflicts."

After selecting the "Resolve Prompt Conflicts" button, this interface is displayed.

The "Resolve Prompt Conflicts" interface provides a clear visual representation of the subassembly prompts changed by hard-locked values in the spreadsheet. It ensures library level subassembly prompt changes reflect the value(s) desired by the user. It enables the user to select the checkbox "Overwrite With Template." This causes the selected values to be overwritten with the "Template Value."

The button text changes to green after all of the conflicts have been resolved.
