Overview: Window Selection

Written by Tim Sublette

There are two types of window selections methods that you can use while selecting objects in the drawing. To start any window selection, you must first pick a space in the drawing. If you select an entity, instead of an empty area in the drawing, the entity will be selected, and the window selection will not start.

Window

A window selection will select all objects entirely inside the rectangle, defined by two points. Specifying the corners from left to right creates a window selection. A window selection will have a solid border for the rectangle.

  1. Only the entity entirely inside the window selection will be selected.

Crossing

A crossing window selection will select all the objects that are within any part of the window. Specifying the corners from right to left creates a crossing selection. The crossing window will have a dashed border for the rectangle.

  1. All Entities that touch a crossing selection window will be selected.
