Styles

A “style” can be created by Report Designer users and utilized repeatedly in different reports. This is useful because it eliminates the need to format each component manually. Instead, you can create a new style in a report and establish its parameters (like font name, size, and font style) exactly how you like them. Assigning your custom style to any component within a report will automatically apply the features of that style to the component.

Changing the settings of a style will automatically apply the changes to whatever components you had previously assigned the style. Also, styles are very helpful in establishing a common appearance across all reports. This is beneficial when a corporate style or standard output format is desired.

Each component has its unique design parameters. When a component features parameters that are not present in the applied style, the style will ignore that parameter.

Add Style

There are nine style types to choose from:

Component style is built to be used with all but the Cross-Tab and Chart components. Chart and Cross-Tab components have separate style types because they have features unique to them. The component style features all of the standard elements of the appearance of a component. There are also parameter flags that can grant the user access to modify specific style parameters.
