The articles in this section of the Knowledge Base involve working with Report Bands for display in your reports. To learn more about Report Bands, and how to access this section within the Report Designer, see Understanding Report Bands in Report Designer. The purpose of this article is to break down the different properties available for Report Bands.

The Page Header band is positioned above the Report Title band by default:

Using the property Title Before Header, it is possible to print the Report Title band above the Page Header band. By default, this property is set to false. Set it to true to swap the bands.

The Title Before Header property is found on the list of page properties.
​

Occasionally you may encounter a situation that sees the last row of data on one page and the Report Summary band on the next. This outcome is not a preferable look.

To avoid this less than preferable look, use the Keep Report Summary Together property. When the Keep Report Summary Together property is set to true, then at least one data row will be printed on the page with the report summary, so it is not on its own page.
​

When a data row is transferred, free space remains on the first page. Take this into account in your report formation.
​

The Keep Report Summary Together property can be found within the Report Summary band’s properties.

The default value of this property is true.
​

When it is preferred that the Report Summary band is printed at the bottom of the page, even when the data ends halfway down the page, use the Print at Bottom property.
​

Setting this property to true, it is set to false by default, prints the summary at the bottom of the page.
​

The Print at Bottom property can be found within the Report Summary band’s properties.

The Report Title band, and the Report Summary band both have a property called Print if Empty. This property allows you to display a report footer and/or a report header even on a page without any data left to display.

This property is enabled by default. If you disable this property for both the Report Title and Report Summary bands, you’ll get a blank page.
​

In Figure 09, the Print at Bottom property has been applied to the Report Summary band as well as the Print if Empty property.
