Starting in Mighty version 8.37, you can connect Mighty directly to your VPN!
Is my VPN supported?
Mighty currently supports importing your VPN configuration from:
WireGuard
Tunnelblick
I'm using a different VPN product!
If you're using a different WireGuard or OpenVPN client, let us know!
If your VPN product gives you access to internal sites, try Mighty's local network features. Keep your VPN connected on your computer.
If you're using a VPN for privacy reasons, not to worry - your Web browsing activity on Mighty already uses an internet connection in the cloud, giving you VPN-like privacy benefits.
If you're using a VPN to change your location, check if your VPN provider offers a Chrome extension. These extensions should work fine in Mighty.
If you use Mighty while connected to a VPN on your computer, we recommend looking into Split Tunneling.
How do I get connected?
From the main Mighty menu, navigate to Settings -> Configure VPN. You'll be taken to a setup page, where Mighty will automatically detect and present your VPNs to choose from.
Click Connect, and your config will be uploaded to Mighty. For WireGuard, you'll need to enter your macOS login password, since we need to read the config from the Keychain. You may need to enter your password twice, if you don't choose to Always Allow.
Once you're connected, you'll be taken to the VPN status page. It should only take a second!
How can I check if I'm connected?
From the main Mighty menu, navigate to Settings -> Configure VPN. You'll be taken to a status page where you can see if you're connected or not, and turn the VPN on/off.
Quitting the Mighty app on your Mac will not turn off the VPN on your Mighty host.
Should I keep my VPN connected on my computer?
You don't have to! Your Mighty host connects to your VPN directly. If you want to keep your VPN turned on for other apps on your computer, you can.
If you use Mighty while connected to a VPN on your computer, we recommend looking into Split Tunneling.
How can I connect to a new VPN if I already set one up?
From the main Mighty menu, navigate to Settings -> Configure VPN. You'll be taken to a status page where you can click Connect to a different VPN to clear out your current VPN config and set up a new one. Clicking this while your VPN is turned on will first turn it off before clearing the config.
Can I have more than one VPN set up simultaneously?
Not at this time. If this would be useful to you, let us know.
Split Tunneling
If you use Mighty while connected to a VPN on your computer, we recommend checking if your VPN has a feature to allow the Mighty app to bypass the VPN and connect to the internet directly. This feature is often called "split tunneling", and it improves your latency when using Mighty with the VPN turned on. We can try to help you with this, but you'll probably need to contact your VPN provider for support.
