Click the Create Type button in the top right corner of the Types tab.
Enter a Hall Pass Name and select a distinct Color and Icon to make it easily identifiable on the dashboard.
Set the Priority level, where 0 is the highest priority that will appear first in Teacher Tools.
Define the Default Pass Time and Max Simultaneous Passes allowed for this specific location.
Use the Limit students or Limit who can assign this pass fields if you need to restrict the pass to a select group, such as an office aide or a specific grade level.
Select how the pass ends; Manually requires a staff member or student to stop the timer, while Automatically ends the pass once the time limit is reached.
Choose to toggle on Ignore Blackouts or Ignore Limits if this pass is for emergencies or specific required movements.
Hit Save and ensure the status is set to ACTIVE.
Tip: Enabling Student Created for common passes usually accounts for 90-95% of pass usage, significantly reducing the administrative load on teachers.

Navigate to Hall Pass and select the Types tab.
Click Edit on an existing type or click Create Type.
Under the Settings heading, toggle on Student can create a pass.
Then toggle on Teacher must approve pass.
Click Save. When a student requests this pass, an alert will be sent to the teacher's device to Approve or Deny.
Please note: Teacher approval is not the recommended workflow within the classroom. This is a great option for the Nurse, Counsellor, or Office that are requesting a student come see them.
