Resetting Points, Content, and Automation Counters

Owners can quickly reset various modules within Minga to ensure the platform reflects the current school year's activities and members.

Step-by-Step Guide to Resetting Your Minga

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu on your dashboard.

  2. Click on the Settings tab and select Minga Resets.

  3. Select the Option that corresponds to the data you wish to clear:

    • Points and Leaderboard: This resets both user points and rankings across the platform.

    • Leaderboard - Wipes all leaderboard rankings and removes points from users' profiles. The points are still accessible through reports.

    • Groups and Members: This deletes all existing Groups, their associated content, and all members within them.

    • Group Members Only: This removes all members from Groups but keeps the Group Owner in place.

    • Content: This removes all posts and media from every feed in your Minga.

    • Automation Counters: This resets the tracking numbers for all active Automations.

  4. Click the Confirm or Reset button to finalize your choice.

Attention: Resetting these modules is a permanent action and cannot be undone once you click reset.

Disable Automated Parent Communications

Keeping parents updated on their students activities and behaviors is a great tool throughout the school year, but it is a good idea to pause these automatic emails over breaks in the year such as Summer or Winter break.

Weekly Parent Summary Reports (Plus and Premium subscriptions only)

To prevent parents from getting weekly summary reports over periods where there is no student data you will need to toggle this setting OFF.

Step-by-Step Guide to Disabling Weekly Summary Reports

  1. Select Settings from the main menu.

  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  3. Expand the Communication & Notifications section to view personalized notification settings.

  4. Toggle OFF Enable Weekly Summaries.

Parent Behavior and Consequence Notifications

If you have not reset the counters for your Automation Groups, parents may still receive notifications on from unresolved consequences assigned to their student and are continuing to escalate over the break.

To prevent this, we have a few best practices you can employ:

Updating your Rostering Settings

We strongly recommend setting up Automatic Rostering so your departing students will be archived and incoming students added automatically!

Ensure you have Auto-update and Archive enabled for students, teachers, and staff to keep user information accurate and up-to-date.

We also recommend ensuring that the correct terms are selected under the setting Manage class rosters to be synced. These are not automatically selected at the start or end of terms and can affect which class lists are automatically rostered:
