Overview
Sometimes it's not always possible to keep a uniform set of product codes (SKUs) across all channels, and this results in product import errors. On Mintsoft you can map different SKU codes across channels for the same product. So you can have a different SKU code for eBay, Amazon and your website. You can even have a multitude of different SKUs for the same channel, such as Amazon if you list the same item in multiple categories.
Note: For Amazon connections listed here: https://om.mintsoft.co.uk/AmazonSPAPI, the ConnectMappingType will need to AmazonSPAPI.
Adding an alternative SKU code manually
To add an alternative SKU code (Alt Code) manually, please do the following:
Click Products then Overview.
Search for the product.
Click Actions then Edit.
Next, click the Alternative Codes tab.
Select the ConnectMappingType (Amazon, Shopify, eBay).
Enter the alternative code into the SKU field.
Finally, click Add.
Uploading Alternative SKUs in Bulk
To add an alternative SKU code (Alt Code) in bulk, please do the following:
Click Products then Extras.
Next, click Upload Additional Info.
Select AltCodes as the Template and click Download.
Complete the spreadsheet as follows -
The SKU column: This is the master SKU that all orders and stock records will be tracked back to.
The Type column: This is the channel the alternative SKU is being used on (eBay / Amazon / etc).
The MappingSKU column: This is the SKU value setup on that channel.
On Mintsoft select AltCodes as the Type to upload.
Click Choose File and find the CSV.
Finally, click Upload.
Example
So, in the example above, when an order contains a product SKU of ALTSKU3 on eBay, this will map back to MASTERSKU1 when received from eBay.
β
This will also work for stock synchronization across channels as well.
Remove/ Delete all Product Alt Codes
If you would like to delete all product alt codes, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
Note: Please be advised we can only filter by client, all Alt Codes for that client will be removed.
