Use custom couriers for your own transportation or warehouse pickups. This guide explains how to set up custom courier services and design your own shipping labels in Mintsoft.

Before you begin

To design and upload custom courier labels, you need the Custom Documents module (paid add-on). Contact your Account Manager to purchase this module.

Add a custom courier

Set up the courier and service codes for your custom shipping method.

Create the courier

  1. Go to Shipping Management then click Couriers.

  2. Click Add New Courier.

  3. Enter PPI in the Name field.

  4. Set Active to ON.

  5. Click Create.

Add a courier service code

  1. Go to Shipping Management then click Extras.

  2. Click Courier Service Codes then click Add New Courier Service Code.

  3. Select PPI as the Courier.

  4. Enter a code in the Code field (for example: PALLET).

  5. In the ExtraCode1 field, enter TRUE to automatically generate tracking numbers.

  6. Click Create.

Note: Your code must match the name of the label template you'll upload later. Mismatched names cause "No Label Template Setup with Name" errors.

Map the courier service

Configure the service settings and link them to your courier code.

Create the courier service

  1. Go to Shipping Management then click Couriers.

  2. Click ManageCourierServices.

  3. In Add New Courier Service, select Standard as the CourierServiceType.

  4. Enter a Name for the service.

  5. Set the Fuel Surcharge % if applicable.

  6. Set Active to ON.

  7. Click Add.

Map the service to the code

  1. Go to Shipping then click Extras.

  2. Click Courier Service Code Mappings then click Add New Courier Service Code Mapping.

  3. Map the service (CourierServiceId) to the code (CourierServiceCodeId).

Design your label template

Create a custom label design using Microsoft Word.

Set up the document

  1. Open Microsoft Word.

  2. Go to Layout then click Size.

  3. Click More Paper Sizes.

  4. Select Custom Size from the Paper Size dropdown.

  5. Set the dimensions:

    • For 4x4 labels: Width 10.16 CM, Height 10.16 CM.

    • For 4x8 labels: Width 10.16 CM, Height 20.32 CM.

  6. Click OK.

Add content to your label

Design your template using these available tags:

  • #ORDERNUMBER#: Displays the order number.

  • #ORDERID_BARCODE#: Creates a scannable barcode (required for Courier Cage Validation).

  • #COMPANYNAME#: Shows the recipient's company name.

  • #FIRSTNAME# #LASTNAME#: Displays the recipient's name.

  • #ADDRESSLINE1#: Shows the first address line.

  • #TOWN#: Displays the town or city.

  • #COUNTY#: Shows the county or state.

  • #POSTCODE#: Displays the postal code.

  • #COUNTRY#: Shows the country.

  • #EMAIL#: Displays the recipient's email.

  • #PHONE#: Shows the phone number.

You can manually add your company logo and return address without tags.

Note: For a complete list of available tags, see the Custom Despatch Note article.

Save the document on your computer when finished.

Upload your template

Add your completed label design to Mintsoft.

  1. Go to Settings then click Labels Templates.

  2. Click Add New Label Template.

  3. Enter PPI-{CODE} as the Name, replacing {CODE} with your courier service code from earlier.

  4. Upload the label document from your computer.

  5. For 3PL warehouses, select the appropriate Client.

  6. Set Type to Courier.

  7. Select Label4x8 as the Paper Size.

  8. Click Save.

Test your custom courier

Your custom courier is now ready to use. When you generate a shipment using this courier, the system creates labels using your custom template, handling them the same way as standard courier labels.

Tip: If you receive "No Label Template Setup with Name" errors, verify that your template name exactly matches the format PPI-{CODE}, where {CODE} is your courier service code.
