How Long Does Exporting Take in Minvo?

Written by Bahaa Gamal
Updated this week

Export time in Minvo depends on several variables. While most videos render quickly, certain factors can increase processing time. Below is a clear breakdown of what affects export speed and what you can expect.

⏱️ Factors That Affect Export Time

1️⃣ Video Length

Action: Be aware of your total video duration before exporting.

Why:

  • Short videos (under 1 minute) typically export in 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

  • Longer videos (5+ minutes) naturally take more time to process.

The longer the video, the more data Minvo needs to render.

2️⃣ Editing Complexity

Action: Consider how many edits and enhancements you've added.

Why:
Videos with multiple:

  • Effects

  • B-roll

  • Animations

  • Transitions

  • Framing adjustments

require more rendering power and may increase export time.

3️⃣ Export Resolution

Action: Select the appropriate resolution for your needs.

Why:

  • Higher resolutions like 1080p or 4K take longer to render than 720p.

  • Minvo cannot upscale beyond your original upload resolution.

For example:
If you upload a 720p video and export at 4K, the final file will still export at 720p.

4️⃣ Server Load

Action: Try exporting during non-peak hours if you're in a rush.

Why:
During busy periods, export queues may take slightly longer due to high demand.

📊 Typical Export Times

Here’s what most users experience:

  • Basic Shorts (under 1 min, minimal edits): 30 seconds – 2 minutes

  • Medium-length videos (1–5 min, moderate edits): 2 – 5 minutes

  • Longer or complex projects (5+ min, heavy edits): 5 – 10+ minutes

These are general estimates and may vary slightly.

🚀 Tips to Speed Up Exporting

  • Keep video length optimized for your platform.

  • Avoid unnecessary effects if time-sensitive.

  • Ensure all media files are valid (invalid media can delay rendering).

  • Close extra browser tabs to improve system performance.
