Voice to text transcription is a powerful feature, but sometimes the results may not be 100% perfect. Don't worry! There are several ways to improve the accuracy of your voice messages.
Tips to improve transcription quality
Voice messages may not be transcribed correctly for several reasons. Here are some tips to help you get the best results:
Speak clearly and slowly: This is the most effective way to improve accuracy.
Use clear language: The transcription system works best with direct and clear language. Try to avoid using excessive slang, idioms, acronyms, or jargon.
One speaker at a time: The system is optimized for a single speaker. Avoid having multiple people talk in the same voice message.
Minimize background noise: Even with cutting edge noise mitigation features, the model may struggle to understand you in a noisy setting. Try to speak in a quiet environment to avoid interference.
Edit the transcription manually
If the transcription still isn't perfect, you can easily edit the text manually. This can be done either before you send the message to le Chat, or after it's already part of the conversation.
Before sending the message
When you finish recording a voice message, the transcription is automatically generated and displayed in the message input box. You can edit this text before sending the message:
Tap or click on the transcribed text inside the input box.
Use your keyboard to make any necessary changes or corrections.
Once you're satisfied, send the message.

In a conversation (Editing a sent message)
You can also edit the transcription of a voice message that has already been sent in a conversation.
Select the message to edit
Locate the message card you wish to edit in the chat history (see screenshot below) and click the “edit” icon associated with that message.
Click the “edit” button on a sent message to modify its content
💡 If you're unsure what was originally said, you can click the play button on the message card to listen to the original audio again before editing.
Edit the message transcription
A new chatbox will appear. You can now make your changes to the transcribed text and click on the “Send” button to save your modifications.

Le Chat will then regenerate its response based on your corrected text.

🚨 When you edit a message that is higher up in a conversation, le Chat will regenerate its answer based on that change. As a result, all subsequent messages in that conversation branch will be deleted to maintain a logical flow.
