How to Edit a Data Widget

Learn how to add, edit, duplicate, resize, move, and delete Data widgets using MNTN's custom report builder for customized visualization.

The data widget allows you to add summarized header metrics to your customized reports. You can use the data widget to present the metrics that matter most when evaluating the success of your campaigns.

Adding Data Widgets

You can add data widgets to any report in the My Reports section. To do so, click the pencil icon at the top right corner of the report to open the edit view, then follow the below steps.

  1. From the Edit Report view, select the Add Widget icon in the top right-hand corner.

  2. Next, select Data from the widget dropdown list.

  3. The Data widget will then be added to the bottom of your report dashboard, where you can customize it based on your goals.

Editing Widget Data

Customize the dimension and metric of your data widget by editing the widget data.

  1. From the Edit Report view, select the Edit pencil icon in the top right corner of the Data widget to open the Data Widget modal.

  2. Use the Data tab in the Data Widget modal to select your desired Dimension. The dimension represents how your metric will be filtered. Common dimensions include Advertiser, CampaignGroup, and Creative, among others.

  3. After defining your Dimension, select your desired Metric. The metric represents the data point you want to view. Common metrics include Impressions, Verified Visits, and Conversions, among others. You can view all available metrics from the Glossary of Reporting Metrics.

  4. Once complete, save your changes by clicking Done.

Editing Data Widget Appearance

Customize the appearance of your data widget from the Appearance tab.

  1. From the Edit Report view, select the Edit pencil icon from the right corner of the Data widget to open the Data Widget modal.

  2. Use the Appearance tab in the Data Widget modal to control your Title and Display Delta features:

    • The Title field will allow you to change the labeling of your Data Widget.

    • The Display Delta allows you to compare the data widget's value against the prior period of the same length based on the date range you select. You can control how the Display Delta shows by choosing Display as # or Display as % from the dropdown.

  3. Once complete, save your changes by clicking Done.

🧠 Pro Tip: The Display Delta is a quick and easy way to see how your most important performance metrics are trending over time.

Duplicating Data Widgets

You can duplicate an existing data widget to copy its attributes to a new widget.

  1. From the Edit Report view, select the Duplicate icon from the top right corner of the Data widget.

  2. Your new duplicated Data widget will appear directly below the existing Data widget.

Resizing Data Widgets

You can resize your data widget to adjust how it appears or fits within your existing report dashboard.

  1. From the Edit Report view, hover over the bottom right corner of your Data Widget until the resize arrow appears.

  2. Click and drag the bottom right corner to adjust the width and height of your Data widget.

Moving Data Widgets

You can move your data widget to adjust where it lives in your existing report dashboard.

  1. From the Edit Report view, click the Data Widget, then drag and drop it to adjust its location.

  2. You can drag the widget left and right or up and down to control its position and orientation on your dashboard.

Deleting Data Widgets

You can delete data widgets to remove them from your existing report dashboard.

  1. From the Edit Report view, select the "X" icon at the top right of your Data widget to delete the widget.

  2. After deleting your Data widget, any surrounding widgets will shift upwards to fill the space left behind by the Data widget.
