Overview

The MNTN app for Shopify allows Shopify merchants to automatically install MNTN's tracking and conversion pixel codes directly within their Shopify store.

The connection between your MNTN Account and a Shopify store is 1:1. You will need a unique MNTN Account and a unique Shopify account to install the pixels for tracking and conversion on each store.

Below, we'll detail how to use the MNTN app for Shopify to install MNTN pixels seamlessly on your site.

Install Pixels

  1. Navigate to My Account and select Pixel from the dropdown.

  2. Select the Install button next to the Shopify pixel option.

This will open a new window for installing the MNTN app for Shopify.

  3. Click the Install button on the App Page to log in and begin the installation.

To complete the integration, please ensure that the email you use for your MNTN account is the same as your Shopify admin account.

πŸ“˜ Example: If your Shopify admin email is person@test.com, your MNTN account email should also be person@test.com.

  4. If you're already logged into your Shopify account, please click the Open button to begin the integration.

  5. Enter your MNTN email and MNTN password.

  6. Click Login.

A dropdown list will appear if your login has access to multiple MNTN accounts.

Logging in and linking your account installs your MNTN conversion pixel as an app pixel extension, which can be seen within your Customer Events dashboard.

  7. Select your MNTN account and click Link.

  8. Click Enable.

Read the directions in the pop-up for further context.

  9. Click Got it.

  10. Ensure the MNTN Tracking Pixel is toggled ON on the left panel and click Save at the top-right.

  11. Click the MNTN Tracking Pixel drop-down on the left panel and select the Manage app link from the left panel.

  12. Click Confirm to confirm that you've enabled your MNTN tracking pixel.

You'll be redirected to MNTN's Introductory Video. Your pixels have been installed and are being reviewed by MNTN's Pixel team.

πŸ“ Note: Please allow MNTN's Pixel team up to 3 days to complete the review process. Our team's approval is required to launch your campaign.

  13. Once the pixel review is complete, your pixel health status in MNTN will update to Active, and an email notification will be sent to the primary address associated with your MNTN account.

Additionally, Shopify will display updated messaging confirming that the tracking and conversion pixels are live, along with raw visit and conversion data from the past 24 hours.

πŸ“ Note: The order ID and order amount fields are mapped with the data associated with the checkout_completed event. Order ID is the order.id from the checkout, order amount is the subtotalPrice from the checkout.

Migrate Your Shopify-Installed Conversion Pixel

If you installed your MNTN pixel through the Shopify app and later customized your checkout flow using Checkout Extensibility or Shopify’s Checkout Editor, you’ll need to migrate your conversion pixel to ensure accurate tracking.

Follow the steps below to successfully migrate your conversion pixel. Once the migration is complete, remove any custom web conversion pixel (if applicable) to ensure accurate performance tracking. Keeping both pixels active may cause duplicate conversion data, leading to inaccurate reporting.

  1. Navigate to your Shopify account.

  2. In the lower left-hand corner, select Apps.

  3. Click MNTN from your dropdown of installed apps.

  4. Look for the prompt on the MNTN app page: Using a customized Thank You and Order Status page? Click the Update Conversion Pixel button to migrate your pixel.

  5. This action will also notify our team, who will review the changes and provide feedback if any adjustments are needed.

  6. Follow the instructions in the next section to remove the custom web conversion pixel.
