What is a BI Platform?
A BI (Business Intelligence) platform is a software tool that helps businesses turn raw data into meaningful insights, visualizations, and reports. It integrates data from various sources, provides data modeling and transformation capabilities, offers a range of visualizations, enables ad hoc querying and reporting, supports interactive dashboards, facilitates collaboration and sharing, and may include advanced analytics features. Popular BI platforms include Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, Looker, Segment, and Domo. They empower organizations to make data-driven decisions and drive business growth.
Visualizing MNTN Performance Data in a BI Platform
BI platforms offer various options for importing data, ensuring flexibility and compatibility with different data sources. It's important to consult with your partner to determine the optimal data format for data ingestion.
Data Ingestion Methods
CSV File
You can import data to your preferred BI platform via CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file.
✅ You'll download the report(s) from the MNTN platform which has the metrics you want to visualize in the BI platform
✅ Once you have exported the file to your computer you can upload the CSV file directly into the BI platform, which then processes and transforms the data into visualizations
✅ BI Platforms commonly provide options to map the CSV columns to the appropriate data fields for accurate representation
💡 Note: This option is a bit more manual, as CSV files have to be downloaded from the MNTN Platform at the frequency at which you want to be able to review the data.
API Endpoint
BI platforms can also ingest data from MNTN through our API (Application Programming Interface) endpoint. APIs allow different software systems to communicate and exchange data in a structured manner. By integrating with APIs, BI platforms can fetch real-time or scheduled data directly from the MNTN data warehouse.
💡 This method provides a more dynamic and automated way of accessing and visualizing data in comparison to a manual CSV file upload.

Email Endpoint with CSV File
Certain BI platforms offer the capability to schedule automated email sends with data attachments, facilitating data ingestion. For instance, you can specify the desired report data to be sent directly to the provided email endpoint at a scheduled frequency, such as weekly on Sundays at a specific time.
Please note that while MNTN supports automated email sends, we do not currently support the automation of including a CSV file as an attachment.
