How to Control Dynamic Media Feed Settings

Learn how to use Feeds and dynamic media together.

Updated over a week ago

Dynamic Media lets you automatically display media that’s tagged to a product on its product page. To give you more flexibility, you can control how feeds are used when Dynamic Media is turned on.

Feed options

You can choose between two settings:

  • Backup: Show this feed only when no dynamic media is found for a product.
Example: If a product doesn’t have any tagged videos, you can display a general UGC feed instead.

  • Filter: Only show media from this specific feed.
Example: Use a “Reviews” feed so only posts from that feed display, instead of your full library.

Why use it?

  • Prevent empty product pages when no tagged content exists.

  • Curate exactly what type of content shows on your pages.

  • Keep your brand experience consistent.

How to set it up

  1. Create a custom Feed (optional — you can also use your default feed of all media).

  2. Go to your Shopify theme editor → App block settings on the product page where you’ve added the Moast widget.

  3. Turn on the Dynamic Media toggle (this ensures media shows dynamically on product pages).

  4. Select a Feed to use.

  5. A new setting called Feed usage will appear. Choose whether to use the feed as a Backup or a Filter.

ℹ️ Note: If you don’t want to use a feed, simply don’t select one, or remove it.
