Custom media feeds let you organize your videos into groups based on specific criteria. You can create feeds that automatically include videos based on conditions you set (like product tags, media tags, or upload date), or manually select which videos to include.
Creating a Custom Feed
To create a new custom feed:
Go to Media in your Moast dashboard
Click the Feeds tab
Click Create Feed
Give your feed a descriptive name
Choose between Automatic or Manual selection
Automatic Feeds
Automatic feeds use conditions to determine which videos appear. Videos that match your conditions are automatically added to the feed.
Setting up conditions:
Select Automatic as your feed type
Click Add Condition
Choose your condition type (Product tags, Media tags, Upload date, etc.)
Set the specific criteria
Add more conditions if needed
Multiple conditions:
Match all conditions (AND): Videos must meet every condition to appear in the feed
Match any condition (OR): Videos that meet at least one condition will appear in the feed
Manual Feeds
Manual feeds let you hand-pick exactly which videos appear. This gives you complete control over the feed content.
To add videos to a manual feed:
Select Manual as your feed type
Click Select Media
Choose videos from your library
Reorder videos by dragging them into your preferred sequence
Feed Settings
Maximum media items: Choose how many videos this feed can include (up to 250). This setting controls the total number of videos that will appear in the feed, which is useful for managing load times and keeping your widgets focused.
Sort order: For automatic feeds, you can sort videos by:
Newest first
Oldest first
Most popular (based on engagement)
Custom order (drag and drop)
π Tip: Give your feeds descriptive names like "Summer Collection Videos" or "Customer Reviews - Skincare" so they're easy to identify when adding widgets to your store.
Using Feeds in Widgets
Once you've created a feed, you can display it in any Moast widget:
Go to Widgets in your dashboard
Create a new widget or edit an existing one
In the widget settings, select your custom feed from the Media Source dropdown
Save and publish your widget
You can use the same feed across multiple widgets, or create different feeds for different pages on your store.
Editing Feeds
To edit an existing feed:
Go to Media β Feeds
Click on the feed you want to edit
Make your changes to conditions, media selection, or settings
Click Save
Changes to feeds are reflected immediately in any widgets using that feed.
βΉοΈ Need help deciding between automatic and manual feeds? Use automatic feeds when you want videos to appear based on rules (like all videos tagged with a specific product), and use manual feeds when you want precise control over which videos appear and in what order.
