Understanding email automations
Updated over a year ago

Automating communication with your customers is crucial for providing a seamless profile creation experience. The most common example is requesting profiles from customers after a purchase. However, these automations are also useful for other purposes (eg. sending incentives to customers).

In the Email Automations section of the Moast Admin you'll see the different automations that are available.

Let's start with the most common example, requesting profiles after a purchase. We can start to set that up by clicking the pencil icon so that we're taken to our profile request page, which looks like this:

There are four parts that make this automation:

  • Trigger

  • Email Timing

  • Email Send

  • Email Reminder

Trigger

The trigger is what starts the automation; once the trigger is activated, customers enter the automation and will start to make their way through the different parts.

In this case, the trigger is when you turn on the automation. So, If this automation is on, all new customers who make a purchase will be added to the automation starting from the day itโ€™s turned on.

Email Timing

Email timing controls when emails are sent to customers. Moast sends emails only after an order is fulfilled to enhance the customer experience. You can set when these emails go out, such as immediately after fulfillment, and adjust the delay period to ensure they are sent at the best times.

Email Send

Once your order is fulfilled and we've completed the waiting period you set, we proceed with sending the email. The type of email sent depends on whether you have an active incentive.

In the backend, we check your incentive status: if you have an active incentive, we send a profile request email with the incentive included. If you don't have an active incentive, we send the profile request email without it. You can identify which email will be sent by looking at the active badge.

Additionally, you have the option to customize the email template by clicking the pencil icon.

Email Reminder

The email reminder feature re-sends the profile request email if a customer does not create a profile within the specified number of days. If you prefer not to send reminder emails, you can easily disable it by deselecting the checkbox. When disabled, the profile request email will not be re-sent.

Enable the automation

Once all parts of the automation are set up, you'll want to make sure that your automation is enabled so that it's sending emails.

If it isn't 'On', then you can easily do this from your Email Automations page by clicking 'Turn on'.

Now you're all set to automatically send emails to your customers.
