Product Sizes & Price Shifts Overview

Products can be configured to enable them to be sold in different sizes that have a different price and quantity.

A Price Shift button is required on the EPoS keyboard to toggle between the different sizes. In PocketTouch the Toggle button is used to price shift.

The benefits of using a Price Shift for a product sold in different sizes is that it saves keyboard space and keeps the stock quantities correct.

Common examples of how price shifts are used, include:

Example 1: A draught beer sold in pints and half pints

2nd@Price

3rd@price

Fixed Char 80

In the examples above:

  • NA - highlights the fact that text cannot be set for the 1st@Price

  • Fixed Char 80 - This text has to be set via Programming - Fixed Character Programming - Number 80

  • Note: The 1st@Price should always be the default selling size for the product eg Pint or Single.

Product sizes / price shifts setup

Products > PLU Details Programming > Details Tab

  • Select the product that you want to add size / price shifts

  • For each size (max 4) you need to add a value in @price and a quantity in the corresponding @ quantity fields.

  • Add the appropriate Alt text modifier - this is the text that appears before the product description when the price shift button is pressed. eg STELLA ARTOIS -> 1/2 STELLA ARTOIS

Any products that are not using product sizes / price shifts should have a zero quantity in the 2nd@, 3rd@ & 4th@quantity fields.
