“No Check Tracking Master” error

I cannot open tables and the EPOS terminal shows the message “No Check Tracking Master”

Cause:

In systems with more than one EPOS, one of the EPOS (normally POS1) is configured as the check tracking master. The check tracking master holds all the table information for the other EPOS in the system.

No check tracking master means that an EPOS terminal cannot access the table information stored on the check tracking master. This can be caused by:

  • Physical network issues

    • Network cable connecting EPOS terminal to the network becoming unplugged or damaged

    • Network switch lost power

    • Router lost power

  • Network issue

    • Data problems on the network

Solution:

First try IRC Initialise:

Navigate to TOUCHPOINT MANAGER FUNCTIONS > INLINE FUNCTIONS > 1.IRC INITIALISE

  • This will try to connect all the EPOS terminals in the network so that they can communicate with each other.

  • A pop up window will appear with the text “Initialising IRC (1)” - the number will count up according to the number of EPOS that it can find on the network. Eg if you have 3 EPOS then it should count up to 3.
