SAM4S Giant-100 Thermal Printer Help

There are two buttons on the front of the printer - the FEED button front centre and the POWER ON/OFF switch below the ERROR indicator triangle.

How to reset the SAM4S Giant 100 printer:

  • Turn off the power using the POWER ON/OFF switch.

  • Hold down the feed button whilst powering back on.

  • This will reset the printer and print a test docket.

How to change the paper roll for a SAM4S Giant 100 Thermal Printer:

  • Open the printer cover by pressing the large button top right hand side.

  • Check for and remove any part rolls.

  • Insert the new thermal paper roll (80mm x 80mm) with the paper coming off the bottom of the roll. See below:

SAM4S Giant 100 Printer Errors and How to Fix:

You will be alerted to any printer errors via printer buzzer sounding momentarily or continuously and the ERROR LED blinks when the printer indicates an Error status.

Paper Out Error:

  • The buzzer and ERROR LED beeps and blinks as like: β€œ Beep---,Beep---”

  • When you press the open button to open the printer cover, the buzzer will stop.

  • After this, you may change the paper roll and continue using the printer.

Cutter Jam:

  • If buzzer and ERROR LED beeps or blinks as like: β€œBeep Beep---, Beep Beep---" the printer is on Cutter Jam error status.

  • To fix a cutter jam, while the printer is turned on (the Power LED Is on,) press the cover button and open the cover.

  • At this time, the cutter will automatically reset.

Cutter Not Home:

  • If the cutter blade is not in home position when the normal waiting time, the printer enters Cutter Not Home error status.

  • The buzzer and ERROR LED beeps and blinks as like: "Beep Beep Beep----, Beep Beep Beep----"

  • To fix a cutter not home, while the printer is turned on (the Power LED Is on,) press the cover button and open the cover.

  • At this time, the cutter will automatically reset.

Problems with Print Quality:

  • Paper dust on the heating elements may lower the printing quality. In this case, clean the printer head as follows:

  • NOTES : Before cleaning the inside of printer or the head, make sure the power is off.

  • Power off the printer.

  • Open the printer cover.

  • Clean the thermal elements of the printer head using a cotton swab moistened with alcohol solvent (ethanol, methanol, IPA)

  • Insert a paper roll and close the printer cover.
