Before you change broadband provider please contact MoboEPOS support to ensure a smooth switch over.

Changing broadband provider may require some configuration changes to EPOS terminals and printers. If the configuration changes are NOT made then you may experience the following problems:

  • Kitchen printing stops working

  • Back office sales upload and program downloads stops working

  • Online ordering, vouchers, loyalty and membership stops working

  • Credit card integration stops working

  • POS terminals cannot communicate with each other

  • Hand held ordering stops working

  • Remote support not available

It is therefore vital that broadband changes are planned for your quietest day of the week (before or after trading) and that MoboEPOS are informed in advance so we can be available to make configuration changes if required.

Switching to a new broadband provider normally means that your existing router will be replaced with a new one. It is important to take a picture of the back of your existing router, where the network cables are plugged in, so that you know which cables need to be plugged back into your new router.

Question to ask your broadband provider before installation:

  • What is the default gateway of the new router? (it will normally be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254)

  • Provide this information to MoboEPOS prior to installation so that we can check if you EPOS system will need reconfiguring.

  • MoboEPOS will also need to know the routers ADMIN password (normally on the back of the router), so that we can make router changes. Please note that this is different to the wifi password.

Does you EPOS system use the following:

  • Dojo Pay at Table integrated card payments

  • PocketTouch hand held ordering

  • Ethernet kitchen printers

If you use any of the above then your main POS terminal will have a Fixed IP address and there is a strong possibility that system reconfiguration will be required.
