Information Required:
To setup the Q-Book EPOS integration you will first need the following information from Q-Book:
Q-Book Server IP address
Q-Book Server port number
Q-Book can be contacted on 01204 373710
TouchPoint EPOS Software Configuration:
On TouchPoint go into Programming mode and navigate to:
3. PROGRAM > 2. System Programming > 3. System Flags > 14. Hotel Posting
Select Hotel system
Make sure option 1. TOUCHPOINT SERVER is selected
Select Directory of hotel server
Enter the IP address and port provided eg 20.120.149.61:5558
The port number follows the IP address and is separated by a colon
Add a new finalise key with the Key Type HOTEL TRANSFER
Assign HOTEL TRANSFER to a button on the Pay Screen
How EPOS Transactions are Posted to Rooms in Q-Book:
Under the Rooms menu option in Q-Book, there is a blue button called EPOS Rooms Download that enables you to print out a Room ID list for EPOS - each room on the list has a unique 5 digit code. This list would be placed next to the EPOS terminal so that staff know which Room ID to use when posting a transaction to a room.
To post a transaction to a room, press the HOTEL TRANSFER button on the payment screen.
A pop up numeric pad will appear, prompting you to ENTER ROOM #.
Enter the 5 digit room ID code.
Another pop up window will appear, showing the room name.
Tap the OK button.
Another pop up window will appear, showing the guest names.
Select the appropriate guest name and tap OK.
The transaction will now be transferred to the room in Q-Book, finalising the EPOS transaction.
