Pricing with Optional Steps
Only selected items count toward the total. Skipped steps = $0.
All steps selected: $75 subtotal → 20% off → $60 One optional step skipped: $50 subtotal → 20% off → $40
Pricing with Default Products
If customer keeps defaults → those prices apply
If customer changes selections → new prices apply
Discount calculation is the same either way
Free Gifts and Pricing
Free gifts are $0 and don't affect the discount calculation.
Tips
Test your math — Calculate cheapest and most expensive possible bundles to verify margin
Percentage off is safest when steps have varying product prices — protects margin consistently
Fixed price works best when all steps have similarly-priced products
Rounding: Percentage discounts can produce odd cents. See Price Rounding.
