Getting Started With Autodesk Model Analytics

Updated over 8 months ago

Autodesk Model Analytics (AMA) tracks your project data, helping you monitor model health and quality across all your Revit projects hosted on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Think of it as your project's health dashboard; it shows you what's working well and what needs attention. You'll get insights into model performance, spot potential issues early, and maintain quality standards across your team.

How to access Autodesk Model Analytics (AMA)

To access Autodesk Model Analytics (AMA), users must meet certain requirements and complete a few setup steps.

Requirements on your PC:

  • Revit Desktop must be installed.

  • The Revit Model Analytics add-in must be installed.

Requirements on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

  • You must have a subscription that includes Revit Cloud Worksharing (e.g., BIM Collaborate Pro).

  • Your ACC Hub access level must be set to Executive. This will grant you access to ACC Insight, where you can access AMA.

From ACC Insight, you will see Model Analytics listed.

Note: If you encounter a redirect issue when trying to access analytics, double-check your user account has Executive permissions at the account level for the hub you are attempting to browse. If you continue to be redirected, please reach out to Autodesk Support.

Understanding collection times

Data collection happens automatically when users sync workshared models or save non-workshared models that are opted into AMA.

Typical collection usually takes less than a minute, but timing depends on:

  • Model complexity

  • Selected data types

  • Local machine specifications

Performance Insights

Both company and project settings show average collection times overall and per data type. Company-level averages include all models across all projects, while Project-level averages focus on that specific project's models

Processing Timeline

After collection, AMA processes the data for dashboard display. This typically takes under a minute but can extend up to 5 minutes during busy periods. If data hasn't appeared after 5 minutes, contact Autodesk Support.

How to verify if a Model or Project is collecting data successfully

You can check if data collection succeeded in several ways. If something appears greyed out, data collection likely failed.

Verify via Executive Overview

  1. Navigate to the Projects section on the Executive Overview page

  2. Hover over Project titles. Blue, clickable titles indicate successful data sync

  3. If you see "Analytics is not enabled for this project," contact Autodesk Support

Verify via Sidebar Navigation

The sidebar shows your ACC files in a hierarchical structure.

At the Project level, the blue icon below indicates data collection is working successfully.

At a Model level, the blue icon below indicates data collection is working successfully.

If you see the Project or Model disabled (as shown below) but Revit indicated the sync was successful, contact Autodesk Support.
