Understand Your Autodesk Model Analytics Data

Updated over 5 months ago

Once your projects are synced from Revit to Autodesk Model Analytics (AMA), you'll have access to comprehensive insights across three levels: organization-wide overview, individual projects, and specific models. Each reveal different details that help you manage your work more effectively.

Overview

The Overview section shows high-level activity across all models and projects in your organization, including straightforward metrics such as:

  • Sync times

  • Total projects

  • Active team members

Health Indicators

This section highlights warnings. You'll see which indicators need attention, which are at caution status, and which are acceptable.

Click any Health Indicator to see which projects need attention, then click those projects to go directly to the project page and address issues.

Families and Usage

View your most frequently placed families and identify which are Content Catalog versus non-Content Catalog. This quick overview shows whether you need to load commonly used families into Content Catalog for better management.

Revit Version Checks

Mixed Revit versions can crash projects; Revit Version Checks prevent that problem. A caution icon means multiple users are working with different Revit versions. Select the flagged model to see who needs to upgrade their installation. Compile lists by filtering by user or Revit version.

Project-Level Analytics

Get more detailed insights by clicking the Projects tab and selecting a specific project.

Overall Health Score

Based on Health Indicators you set at the company level and threshold values configured at the project level. A graph shows how your project health has changed over time, helping you track improvement or spot declining trends.

Health Indicators

Organized similarly to the overview, but clicking an indicator lets you select the specific model it references.

Sync Times and File Size Over Time

Compare file size (shown as a line) with sync time (shown as columns). If sync times spike, you can see what changed between updates to identify the cause.

Model-Level Analytics

Drill down further by clicking the Models tab within a project, then selecting the specific model you want to analyze.

Model Properties

Overview includes file paths, last update date, building area, and other key metrics.

Health Score and Indicators

View Overall Health Score and historical data, plus Health Indicator breakdowns with numbers showing changes since the last sync.

Sync Data

Track all syncs for the model, including user, Revit version, size, sync time, and timestamps. Use the search bar to filter by specific criteria like Revit version or user.

Content Analysis

Click the Content tab, then Select content type to examine specific content within your model:

  • Images: See which images are in the project and how often they're placed. Frequently used images might benefit from being incorporated into Revit families.

  • Families: View Content Catalog versus non-Content Catalog families, placement instances, and unplaced content. Large amounts of unplaced content may indicate it's time to purge the model.

  • Rooms: Drill into room details like area and level. Much of this data can be exported to Excel.

Compare Changes

The Compare Changes tab shows exactly what team members have modified as they sync their models. A chart displays when changes occurred, and hovering over each dot reveals the date, time, computer, and user making the change.

Three columns show Added, Removed, and Changed content. Click any category to view detailed information about specific modifications, giving you granular visibility into project evolution.
