Traits are a key part of Momentify’s content system. They allow you to define and manage the audiences or personas that your content is built for. These traits are used to personalize experiences in the Momentify Explorer App and give your team a more structured way to manage lead categorization, engagement strategy, and build results / content that is applicable to each segment.

Each Trait Group acts as a category (e.g., Audience Type), and its Trait Options represent different personas (e.g., Technician, Energy Manager, Sustainability Manager, or Student).

What Are Traits Used For?

Traits are used to:

  • Organize leads by predefined categories or personas

  • Power persona-based experiences in the Momentify Explorer (iPad App)

  • Enable tailored content, visuals, and messaging per group

  • Support event and workspace analytics and segmentation

How to Access and Manage Traits

  1. Go to Content > Traits from the left navigation

  2. You’ll see a list of Trait Options grouped under your workspace’s Trait Group (currently labeled as “Trait Content”)

  3. Each Trait Option shows its title (e.g., “Current Technician”, “Dealer”, “Parent”)

  4. To edit a Trait Option, click the pencil icon on the right

Editing a Trait

Clicking the pencil icon opens the Edit Trait panel. From here, you can update:

  • Title – The name of the trait (e.g., “Current Technician”)

  • Icon – The icon displayed on the iPad during Momentify Explorer interactions

  • Image – The background shown in the app when this trait is selected

  • New Field (Optional) – Allows you add subtitle and description (displayed as Help Text)

  • Variant Overrides – (Advanced) Used for defining alternate content or rules tied to this trait

⚠️ Note: Both the icon and background image are visible to users in the Momentify Explorer iPad app, helping bring clarity and branding to your event experience.

Best Practices

  • Keep Trait Titles clear and descriptive—think from the attendee’s point of view

  • Use distinct icons and images to visually reinforce who the trait is for

  • Create separate traits for each target audience, department, or persona

  • Update trait visuals to match your brand or the event theme for consistency

Traits make it easy to personalize, segment, and scale your attendee engagement strategy. As your team creates more tailored templates and Moments, Traits ensure the right message reaches the right audience—every time.
