Overview
The Dispatch Grid now supports Color Rules โ a powerful new way to visually organize your dispatch board. Assign colors to specific column values so you can instantly spot trips that need attention, identify unpaid reservations, or distinguish between trip types at a glance.
Think of it like conditional formatting in a spreadsheet, but purpose-built for dispatchers managing dozens of trips per day.
How It Works
Setting up color rules takes just a few clicks:
Hover over any supported column header in the dispatch grid and click the three-dot menu (โฎ)
Select "Color rules..." from the dropdown menu
Choose a value (e.g., "PENDING", "Not Paid", "HOURLY") and assign a color from the 10-color palette
Optionally check "Entire row" to apply the color across the full row for maximum visibility
Click "Save Rules" โ your rules are saved to your account and sync across all devices
Supported Columns
Color rules can be applied to the following dispatch grid columns:
Trip Status โ Color-code by pending, confirmed, started, completed, etc.
Paid Status โ Instantly see which trips are paid vs. not paid
Close Status โ Track which trips have been closed out
Trip Classification โ Differentiate business trips, kids birthdays, airport pickups, etc.
Trip Category โ Distinguish between hourly, one-way, round trip, and other categories
Driver โ Assign colors per driver for quick fleet-at-a-glance visibility
Vehicle โ Color by vehicle type to manage fleet allocation
Features
10-Color Palette
Choose from 10 carefully selected colors that provide strong contrast and readability: Blue, Sky, Green, Mint, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, Purple, and Gray.
Row or Cell Coloring
Each rule gives you the option to color just the individual cell or the entire row. Cell-only coloring is great for subtle indicators (e.g., highlighting "Not Paid" in the Paid Status column in red). Row coloring is ideal when you want a trip to stand out completely (e.g., all hourly trips highlighted in mint).
Multi-Rule Support with Diagonal Stripes
You can create multiple rules across different columns. When a single trip matches multiple row-level color rules, the grid displays diagonal stripes combining all matching colors โ so you never lose information when rules overlap.
Syncs Across Devices
Color rules are saved to your user account, not just the browser. Set up your rules once on desktop and they automatically appear on any device you log into.
Example Use Cases
Spot Unpaid Trips Instantly
Set a color rule on the Paid Status column: WHEN "Not Paid" โ Red. Every unpaid trip immediately stands out in the grid, so your team can follow up before the trip date.
Track Trip Progress at a Glance
Set rules on the Trip Status column: WHEN "PENDING" โ Orange, WHEN "CONFIRMED" โ Green. Your dispatch board becomes a live status board without needing to read each cell.
Color-Code by Trip Type
Set rules on the Trip Category column with "Entire row" checked: WHEN "HOURLY" โ Mint (entire row), WHEN "ONE WAY" โ Purple (entire row). Entire rows light up so dispatchers can distinguish trip types in a packed schedule.
