Watchlists

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview:

The Watchlist feature lets you track securities you are interested in researching or monitoring. You can use it for quick comparisons across stocks, managed funds, ETFs, LICs, and hybrids. While it is not a full portfolio tool (it does not track investment growth like Sharesight), it provides a simple way to monitor key indicators such as market value, analyst ratings, dividend yield, and annualised returns.

How to Add Securities to Your Watchlist?

From the Search Box

  • Enter the ticker or name of the stock/fund in the search box.

  • In the results list, click the heart icon ❤️ next to the security.

From a Stock or Fund Quote Page

  1. Sign in at premium.morningstar.com.au . Search for a stock or fund and click its name to open the quote page.

2. On the quote page, click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right-hand side & Select Add to Watchlist from the dropdown menu.

How to Access Your Watchlist?

Follow the below steps to Access Watchlist:

  • Click your name at the top right of the page.

  • Select Watchlist from the dropdown menu.

How Watchlists Work?

  1. You don’t need to manually create watchlists. A watchlist is automatically generated when you add your first security.

  2. Securities are grouped into categories such as Stocks, Managed Funds, ETFs, LICs, and Hybrids.

  3. For example, a “Stocks” watchlist only appears after you add a stock.

Limits on Watchlists:

  1. Number of watchlists: Automatically created — one per security type.

  2. Maximum securities per watchlist: Unlimited. You can add as many securities as you like.
