A new navigation experience for Investor, and some other important changes

Updated over a month ago

In preparation for some exciting new features planned for later in 2026, we’ve made some changes to the website.

Navigation

You’ll notice the way you navigate the Morningstar Investor site has changed. We’ve moved our menu from the top of the page to the left-hand side. You can expand each category to reveal the menu items or click on the expand button on the top on the menu.

If you prefer, you can also minimise the navigation menu to increase the viewable area of each page. Simply click the “Close” button at top of the menu.

Security-details pages

We have made some minor changes to the way you view our security-details pages.

Stocks

When you navigate to a stock report page, you will initially be presented with the “Summary” view. Here you will see the stock’s quote data, and Morningstar’s equities-research ratings for companies that are covered by our research team.

Simply use the tabs to see our detailed analysis, performance and valuation charts, financials and key metrics.

We’ve moved the Chart and Forecast pages navigation to the top right.

Funds and ETFs

Similarly for our Fund and ETF report, initially you are presented with a Summary view. Click the tabs to reveal further information.

Global Equity Best Ideas

We’ve provided some enhancement to the Global Equity Best Ideas page.

You can now easily filter between Australia and New Zealand Best Ideas, and Best Ideas from across the globe.

Additions and removals are clearly labelled; click Rationale to learn why our analysts included—or removed—a security from the Best Ideas list.

Additionally, we no longer provide a PDF version of the Global Equity Best Ideas list.

Hybrids coverage discontinued

Further to our announcement on 3 October 2025, Morningstar’s offering of BondAdviser credit research coverage has ceased.

This decision has been driven by a significant decline in usage of the Credit Research, and the moves by regulators to cease allowing credit securities to be available to retail investors.

Market Movers: Australia and New Zealand

We've changed our source for the Australia and New Zealand Market Movers feature. We now display the gainers, losers, and actives from the ASX and NZX exchanges.

Our Frequently-Asked Questions

We've integrated our knowledge base—otherwise-known-as Frequently-Asked Questions or FAQs—with our chatbot MIA. Simply ask MIA your question, and you will be provided with the same information previously available in our FAQs.

We've removed a handful of features

In an effort to simplify the layout of some pages, we have removed some features that are available in multiple places.

On our Home page:

  • Equities, Commodities and Currency table: available on our Markets pages, see Australia for example.

  • Frequently-Asked Questions: as mentioned above, you can get get answers to common questions by simply asking MIA via our Messenger app.

On our Monitor Markets pages:

  • Latest-research cards: we've removed the research cards that appeared at the bottom of each Markets page. You can access our full lists of recently-published Stock, Fund, and ETF research reports from their respective Latest Research pages.
