What should I include in the box?

You will need to create a quote for the gear you wish to sell. This could be for your camera, lens, and any other equipment, such as tripods and lighting. When you are ready to submit your quote, you will then receive an overview of what we expect to receive

When packing your gear, include only the items listed in your quote along with any appropriate accessories for those items

Please note that only the accessories originally included by the manufacturer are required. For example, some cameras may have only been sold with a USB charging cable; therefore, the USB cable would be the required charger for that camera.

To find out what you need to specifically include with your quote, you can view the required accessories under ‘What’s in the quote?

Camera

Cameras require their functioning accessories, such as battery and charger, as these will be included with your quote price. If you do have extra original batteries, these will need to be quoted separately.

The following accessories are normally required to ensure the full value is received on your quote:

  • 1x Original Battery

  • 1x Original Charger

  • Eye Cup

  • Battery Door

  • Body Cap (To ensure that the sensor is kept clean in transit)

Lenses

Items such as 'Kit' Lenses will need to be quoted separately to your camera as we purchase these individually.

The following accessories are normally required to ensure the full value is received on your quote:

  • Original Tripod Collar (If applicable)

  • Original Lens Hood (If applicable)

  • Front & Rear lens caps (To ensure the glass is kept clean in transit)

Please note that these are approximate, please refer to the ‘What’s In the quote’ section of your quote for more information on the model of accessory required.

Other Original Accessories

Original Packaging, neck straps or instruction manuals can also be included with your quote and they will not have a negative impact if they are missing.

We may increase your quote if we find these accessories to be in a better condition once received, which will be reflected in your final quote.

Third Party Accessories

Third-party accessories are only accepted if they replace a missing original accessory. For example, if an original battery is missing, a third-party battery may be accepted but will only partially make up for the original's absence. Additional third-party accessories will not increase the value of your quote and cannot be returned.

To view the third party accessories which we may accept on your quote, please view the ‘Other Items’ section of your quote.

Un-listed Items

Please ensure that the item you wish to sell is listed and quoted before booking with the shipping carrier.

If the item you wish to sell isn’t available through our quote page, or you are unable to find the listed model, you can select ‘I can’t find what I am looking for’ within the quote creation page. Once submitted, our team will review the item(s) to determine if this can be bought by MPB, and a quote will be generated and sent within 24 hours.

Disposal Notice

To ensure a safe and sustainable working environment for our operations team, the following items will be discarded and/or recycled during the checking process automatically:

  • Soiled packaging

  • Swollen, damaged, and/or non-functional batteries

  • Screen Protectors & covers

  • Damaged cables and/or chargers

  • Other damaged items that pose a safety hazard.

In the event that a sale is not completed, any such items will therefore not be returned and MPB may dispose of such items as it sees fit such as recycling the items or donating them to charity.

If you're selling your gear to MPB, we recommend placing it inside a sturdy outer box rather than using the original packaging as the main parcel. This helps protect the original packaging from damage, meaning it’s less likely to be disposed of during the checking process.
