Platform requirements for your artwork

Different streaming platforms have different artwork requirements. In order for your artwork to be accepted by all platforms, you should adhere to the following specifications:

  • File format: JPG, JPEG, PNG

  • Aspect ratio: square, minimum: 640 x 640 pixels, maximum: 15,000 x 15,000

  • Color profile: RGB

  • Maximum size: 50 mb

  • Resolution: 72 dpi

The artwork must not be misleading, e.g. it must not include an artist who does not appear on the album. Your artwork must be easily recognisable and must not be blurred, pixelated, uneven, misaligned or rotated, or have other quality problems.

If you want to use text in your artwork, please note that only your name or artist name, plus the title of the release should be included. (In other words, all the information that appears on the artwork must be in the given metadata of your release). Unfortunately, further text will not be accepted by the platforms and may result in your release being rejected.

Your artwork must not contain references to its physical form or packaging (e.g. CD or vinyl), the digital product, the various streaming and download services or any retailers.

Pornographic content on your album artwork is always prohibited. Any album artwork with national socialist symbols will be rejected immediately.

If you follow these guidelines correctly from the outset, the whole process will run like clockwork.
