A version is the particular form of a track or release. If the track or album is the original version there is no need to select a version, unless it accurately applies to the music. Versions can be selected at both album and track level. The following is a breakdown of the current versions we provide. Please note that if you select a version, it will be displayed accordingly on the streaming services.

Acapella: group or solo performance without instrumental accompaniment.

Acoustic: music that is performed without electronic means.

Cover Version: a song performed by someone other than the original artist or composer. If your release contains a cover version, we currently require proof of license.

Deluxe: a re-release of an album with extra content related to the album.

Extended Version: a longer version of a song. If there is only one version of the track, "Extended Version" does not need to be selected.

Instrumental: a version without any vocals on the track. If there is only one version of the track, "Instrumental" does not need to be selected.

Live: a live performance.

Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: a compilation of songs that comprise of all the music of a film. This version must be selected on album level if any of the genres under Soundtrack are selected. This must also appear on the album artwork.

Production Music: recorded music that is produced with the intent to be licensed to clients for film, television, radio, etc. rather than music that is intended for general consumption.

Radio Edit: a version made for radio.

Remastered: a remastered version of the release to improve the sound quality from the original. If this version is selected at album level, it must match all tracks on the release.

Remix: a new or different version of a recorded song that is made by changing or adding to the original recording of the song. It is required to have explicit permission from the original rightsholder in order to publish it via MusicHub.

Single Edit: a version of the track released as a single with changes compared to the album version of the track.

If you have a version that does match the above, you can use our new "Add Custom Version" to add the relevant version. This is ideal for specific mixes.
